Today a few hours later, one of Liz Trus or Rich Sunak will be named as leader of the Conservative Party -- before being appointed prime minister Tuesday.
On July 7th, Boris Johnson announced he would resign from the prime minister's position.
The resignation came after several days of political pressure that sparked the massive resignations of many of his ministers.
In the race for the first party, eight candidates were nominated in the first round of voting.
After the first round, several successive rounds took place from which only two candidates remained- Richie Sunak and Liz Truss.
The latter is seen as the major favourite, according to polls.
After the party's election, the new leader will give a speech.
The winner is expected to spend the rest of the day compiled the list of cabinet ministers and preparing for the first speech as prime minister, which is expected to happen Tuesday. /Periscopi/
