The European Union, along with NATO and international partners, expresses full solidarity with Albania and concern following malicious cyber activities in July. The attack directly targeted critical infrastructure and affected the delivery of public services to people and businesses in Albania. We strongly condemn such unacceptable behaviour in cyberspace, which conflicts with accepted norms of responsible behaviour of the state, repeatedly supported by all UN member states.
Such destabilising and irresponsible behaviour aimed at threatening Albania's integrity and security, democratic values and principles, and trying to undermine democratic institutions and societies in general, is unacceptable.
The European Union, together with NATO and international partners, is ready to support the construction of Albania's cyber sustainability in our existing cyber security co-operation.
In line with the EU Strategy for Cyberetic Security and Strategic Busule, the European Union is determined to prevent cyber attacks through increased flexibility and by firmly responding to cyber attacks against The EU and its member states are committed to helping build cyber security sustainability in candidates and others.
