Hamiti: No solution and agreement for normalisation without mutual recognition

Regarding this LDK event, Muhamet Hamiti spoke of reaching a circulation agreement between the two states with identification.

According to him, it is a deal reached 11 years ago that this government once branded everything until it even named traitors those who had written that agreement.

“This government has turned the dialogue into technical issues, even being said to be a verbal agreement”, Hamiti stressed, further clarifying that Kosovars have travelled to Serbia with identification now 11 years.

Former Ambassador Hamiti praised that Kosovo needs a comprehensive agreement with mutual recognition, which “we're not seeing as we're on this” road.

While for the deal on the Hamiti license, he thinks it is acceptable agreement that those plates -- according to him -- are illegal, even compiled in Serbia for Kosovo municipalities.

As for reaching the agreement on normalising relations between the two countries, Hamiti said it could be achieved within this period, as the EU has warned, but with political will and push from international circles, as well as readiness, knowledge of the Government of Kosovo commitment.

“The status quo serves Russian and Serbian politics, so this government has to bring dialogue back to the political level with elements of the recognition agreement. I hope the government will understand the urgency of dialogue and exploit the readiness and this international will, because Kosovo is vitally in need of agreement with mutual recognition, because there is no solution and agreement for normalisation without mutual recognition”, former Kosovo ambassador to England Muhamet Hamiti said, among other things.
