Kosovo's government has issued communicates for the meeting today that the country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, has had with the EU emissary for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, as well as with French president and German Chancellor's adviser.
The government in the communiqué has clarified that at this meeting it was stressed that the Republic of Kosovo has shown its will and willingness to engage in a principled and well prepared dialogue.
“Prime Minister Kurti reiterated that the purpose of the dialogue, which should benefit citizens of both countries, should be reaching a legally binding agreement with mutual recognition at centre”, the Government said in the communiqué.
He thanked Mr. Leičac, as well as counsellors Mr. Plötner and Mr. Bonne, for their commitment to the full normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.

The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the European Union's Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Miroslav Lajčac, and consultants for foreign policy and security of Germany's Chancellor, Olaf Scholz and France's President Emmanuel Macron, Mr. Jens Plötner and Mr. Emmanuel Bonnie.
It was stressed that the Republic of Kosovo has shown its will and willingness to engage in a principled and well prepared dialogue.
Prime Minister Kurti reiterated that the purpose of the dialogue, which should benefit the citizens of both countries, should be reaching a legally binding agreement with mutual recognition at the centre.
He thanked Mr. Leičac, as well as counsellors Mr. Plötner and Mr. Bonne, for their commitment to the full normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.
During the meeting, talk of the need for even stronger efforts by all actors so that the European perspective becomes a reality for the states of the Western Balkans.
The meeting came after the joint letter of Chancellor Scholz and President Macron to Prime Minister Kurti, for advisers to pay a joint visit with Miroslav Lajčak, Kosovo and Serbia, so that they can find options for the dialogue process to move forward quickly.
