Major gas prices in the US have fallen to their lowest levels since prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Benzina in the U.S. came down today to $2.6 per gallons, the lowest since February 18th, shortly before Moscow invaded Ukraine, imposing a series of sanctions from the United States and its allies that raised prices on energy markets in many years.
Energy costs have been the main driver of global inflation, with retail gas prices reaching a record of all time in the United States with more than $5 for cooking in mid-June.
The US gas reserves dropped by 1.17 million barrels to 214.48 million, the lowest since November, according to data released Wednesday by the Energy Information Administration.
“We may have seen the highest degree of use of the refinery and this will continue to decrease as the summer season ends and the refiners go to the maintenance season,” said Bob Yawger, director of the energy future at Mizuho Securities. /ToopChannel/
