Emmerson: KLA was popular against genocide, Wessel has demanded that each co-operate with the Special

Ben Emmerson, a lawyer for former Prime Minister Veselin, said that a subject that appears in the Procures statements is that because of being fair to the accused, and allegedly cannot be given the names of some witnesses, whatever it means there must be many of them [...]
Emmerson reminded the court that Wessel has been calling for co-operation with the tribunal since the day he was sent to The Hague and at his first session.
Mr. Vessel has delivered a strong message, clear to all, that everyone must cooperate with the Secvilised Chambers, that no one should think that cooperation is a cause for helping the accused. He has specifically asked me to stress this part of the statement he made at the moment of his arrest, and at his first session. He has demanded that all be co-operative”, he said.
Emmerson recalled that the KLA was not a structured organisation, but a popular movement.
“U n The CK was a movement of people, an attempt to protect the civilian population, to protect from inhumane acts by Serb forces”, he said.
