In fact, in the absence of an agreement with Government, the SBASK has decided to question its membership if it is pro-prohibiting the strike and starting teaching on October 3rd. The SBASK has warned of the possibility of holding classes until January, in order to give Government time for reflection in meeting union conditions.
Deputy Education Minister Dukagjin Pupovci has said he strongly believes SBASK's membership will hear the voice of its leadership and return to school.
I think this is a positive assessment that says there's been reflections within the union and I strongly believe that even membership will hear this voice coming from the Union leadership and support its proposal to disrupt this strike. This would enable all demands to discuss calmly and without including students”, Pupovci stressed in RTK.
The SBASK has demanded that by January the government support the additional salary until the implementation of the Law on Salaries and, according to economic growth, including the inflation rate, then complete the change of Law No. 04/L 131 for the State-financed Pension Scheme to abolish the 15-year contributing criterion and complete the change of the Health Insurance Law.
I have no doubt that in MPs and the Government there is the ability to change these laws, so that not only union requirements can be met but also the reasonable requirements of all employees. As for the first request, the Government has approved a package that is worth by the end of this year, and it is certain that during discussions on the 2023 budget, it will be thought how to overcome this situation even in 1923 because inflation will not end in December of this year. Whether this demand can be met, economic growth plus inflation is something that needs to be calculated because we're talking about relatively large numbers. Inflation got us some 19 per cent, according to the World Bank, and about 14 per cent, according to our statistical agency”, has added Pupovci.
