The President of the United States, Joe Biden, and First Lady Jill Biden, on September 17th traveled to London to attend Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
The White House said earlier that Biden has accepted an invitation from the Royal Palace to attend the funeral, which will be held on September 19th at the West administrator Church.
The White House explained that only Biden was invited, not other former American presidents.
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8th. She reigned for 70 years, becoming the most tall British monarch on the throne.
The British queen had met 13 of the last 14 American presidents.
An initial meeting on 18 September between Biden and the new British prime minister, Liz Truss, has been cancelled, officials said.
Instead of this meeting, Biden and Trus will hold a full bilateral “summit” next week during the work of the UN General Assembly.
Officials have not indicated why the Biden-Trus meeting has been cancelled.
