It takes two weeks for the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo (BSPK) to be on strike, after the Government of Kosovo has failed to meet its demands, among them an additional 100 euros for workers until the adoption of the Law of Salaries. U.S. Trade Union of Education, Science and Technology Secretary (SBASHK) Ymer Ymer in a pronomation for Telegrafi said that if there is no agreement to meet their demands, the strike will continue in the coming days.
He said the government's decision on the amount given by 50 euros for three months is unacceptable to them.
If there is no agreement to meet our demands then the strike continues in the coming days, until an agreement on meeting the requirements is reached. We have discussed membership and the decision the government has made of 50 euros has been unacceptable to over 90 per cent of our”, he said. On the other hand, he said that today they expect a meeting with the Minister of August, Arberie Nagavci, with the Council of strikers.
We expect a meeting maybe today with the Minister of Education and the SBASK Grevist Council. The striking BSPK council must make efforts to meet with the prime minister. It's been called an economic-Social Council from the BSPK chairman at 1: 00 p.m. to look at the possibilities we're not even finding an acceptable proposal for both sides that the Council recommends government”, Ymer stressed.
Asked what was the position of President Vjosa Osmani at the meeting he was held in the presidency, he said:
The president has heard all parties including the union and recommended that the government and union sit down to find a solution. I believe the unions have given their stand and reasoned with the demands. I think the president is in counsel with his cabinet for perhaps proposing any mode, but so far we don't have any proposal from the president...”.
