Month ticket 9 euros expired
Despite journalists' questions, neither Linder nor Scholz nor Energy Minister Habeck, from the green party, gave no details about the measures the third package would contain. It is expected to be approved by mid-September. Nor is it known whether the monthly public transportation ticket of only 9 euros will be included again. Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner said he is currently considering the possibility of financing such a flat price ticket, but demanded that part of the ticket be financed by the banks.
The 9 euro monthly ticket was the measure of the second relief package the government received as a result of price hikes, caused mainly by Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Meanwhile, the government is being asked by many prominent politicians and personalities, activists and environmentalists, to make the amount of the 9-euro ticket permanent, which expired on August 31st.
Public buildings will no longer be enlightened, so the Berlin Cathedral will appear at night.
Out of 300 euros in gift
The fuel price subsidy expires on September 1st. But citizens will be relieved with a 300-euro financial assistance to any working person, including jobs as students or full-time jobs (minijob). The measure also belongs to the second package and will be paid through the employer. The 300-euro amount will be subject to income tax and will reach reduced in the citizen's wallet. According to the Finance Ministry estimates, depending on each's tax fees, it may be down to 142 euros.
Less Light, Less Warming
Also on September 1st, the new energy savings regulations go into effect. It predicts, among other things, that shops keep their doors closed, no more light ads, after 10: 00 p.m., to remove light designers from monuments and other similar buildings. Also envisioned is the drop in temperature in workplaces and public buildings. Exceptions make hospitals, gardens, schools, or other institutions. In the private sector, too, the heating of private swimming pools is no longer permitted, as well as tenants are not obliged to maintain a temperature level in rented rooms. / DW
