These are the words of Robin Deaki, a warrior once known as Britain's worst boxer, writes Periscope.
Deakin achieved fame worldwide after losing 51 consecutive combat during his professional career.
The boxer endured more than 40 new operations and was unable to walk without help until he was six.
In an effort to improve his mobility, Deaki became acquainted with boxing as a child the beginning of a long and unique journey in this sport.
“I was removed from the gym a little over six years old”, Deakin told SPORTbible.
I was in my wheelchair and the trainers said things like he could be good enough if he could walk. I continued surgery on my feet, became a little stronger, and began with physical therapy.
I finally started walking, taking small steps. I only went to boxing to try and strengthen my feet. I realized it helped me, with my self-confidence as well. I just started growing stronger. It helped me a lot.
It gave me confidence to be myself. Instead of being a shy kid who used to be harassed. It was good to be myself and have the confidence to do this”, he said.
