20 teams, including Barcelona, are being investigated by U. EFA for failing to respect the Financial Play for the 2020/21 season.
Sanctions are expected for several clubs and which include 10 popular clubs in Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, Inter, Rome, Juventus and Barcelona.
The last two are even in a court trial against UEFA along with Real Madrid regarding the creation of the Super League.
As The Times reported, sanctions for PSG and Marseille can be of financial nature, while Italian clubs and Barcelona are expected to receive severe penalties that could keep them from European races or the ban on transfers.
New control system
This season will be the last to use the rules of the current FFP. From 2023, UEFA will bring a new system, with clubs that will be limited to spending only percentages of their income on the salaries of players, transfers and agents.
The limit will be 90 percent from 2023, 80% from 2024 and 70% from 2025. Club finances will be monitored at different times during the year when they are competing in European competitions.
The PSG is believed to have broken one of the four base points of the Financial Play in the last three years designated by the governing football body, where they have failed to return financial books in terms of income-related spending.
The French newspaper L'Equipe has spoken of a deficit of over 30m euros in each of three years, a circumstance that should be changed immediately.
As Marca learns, Lionel Messy and Julian Mbppe's team is in danger of being sanctioned financially, and even more serious, it can be punished in a sports way. /
