The qualifying match was initially held a year ago, but was canceled after just six minutes by local health officials due to COVIDD-19 protocols regarding four Argentine players.
According to Brazilian confederate President Ednaldo Rodriguez, Brazil coach Tete does not want to play the match because of the risks of injuries, suspensions and a possible boycott by the Argentinians.
In a statement, Rodriguez said: “We will contact FIFA not to be played. I will make every effort to respond to our technical staff's request. Our priority is to win the Qatar World Cup. If that match is not recommended by Selecao training staff, we will work not to be played”.
The qualifying match, which was scheduled for last year, was cancelled after just six minutes when health officials entered the field to capture Cristian Romero, Emiliano Martinez, Amy Buendia and Giovanni Lo Celso é after they failed to comply with the restrictions of Ovid-19.
