Electricity reductions, which are now being applied for two weeks in our country, are causing huge financial losses to businesses and local producers. Director of the American Economic Ode in Kosovo, have criticised the country's institutions for failing to act on improving regular electricity supply.
The executive director of the American Economic Ode in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, says that as a result of unannounced electricity reductions for businesses, financial damages in factories total millions in just one day.

The head of the American Chamber of Economics, Zeka, in an interview for Kosova Press, has also talked about the impasses of institutions in realising capital investments and not extending budgetary means.

It's a pity that the necessary measures are not being taken to improve or provide an endless supply of electricity... The consequences are to citizens as well as businesses, but what we like the American Economic Age, we've asked the country's institutions to do their best, and to ensure an endless supply for private companies in the country, especially for companies that are causing huge financial damage, even technically, due to disruptions and unannounced electricity warnings... Businesses especially those in the production sector are current for financial damages, which total tens of thousands of euros, I'm talking about individual cases, special factories in one day. Kosovo is not that there are highly developed industries, but in all producers who we have financial damages get millions of figures, for which of course the consequences will be far greater than the actual financial damage itself, says Zeka.

Director Zeka has said that the year 2022 will be lost in the impact of capital investments, as he says there has been no realisation of investments and spending budgetary means.

We've had no realisation of capital investments, and don't spend budgetary means. Capital investments spanned or have the largest multi-progressive effect on the country's economy in the medium and long term, yet it seems that this is not properly understood on the part of institutions, and therefore this affects the difficulties of operating private sector companies, as well as contracting economic activity in general, and of course blocking the real economic potential, which could be used for economic development in the country, if capital investments were realised. We are now in August, within the next two to three months it is impossible to announce public procurement activities, since there are also legal restrictions in this regard, which is that the year 2022 will actually be largely lost year in terms of the importance that capital investments could have the overall growth rate”, he points out.

Zeka made it known that in the meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gabriel Escobar, the discussion has focused on the importance of economic integration of the Western Balkan region, on establishing a common regional market, such as the initiative for the open Balkans.

He says OECH supports the initiative for the open Balkans.

The dialogue also focused on the importance of the economic integration of the Western Balkan region, on the creation of a common regional market, on the importance they have, as is the initiative for the open Balkans, for which Kosovo institutions are hesitant to become Kosovo. We as the American Economic Ode support the initiative for the open Balkans, where we have tried to highlight the importance of an initiative like the Balkans opened before the Kosovo government. We have demanded that the same be made part of discussions where the framework for a joint regional market is shaped by the name Balkans opened or by any other name. Unfortunately, the country's institutions see the matter differently”, Zeka says.
