Argentina left Camp Nou last summer
Xavi Hernandez has reaffirmed his desire to see his former teammate Lionel Messy playing again in Barcelona.
The Argentine striker left the club last summer and joined Paris Saint-Germain as a free transfer, since he had previously expired contracts and Barcelona couldn't offer him a new contract due to financial problems because of Covid-19.
I want the Mess in Barca's time not to end, I think he deserves a second chance, a last chance, but that happens next year”, Xavi said at a press conference when asked about the player.
He has contracts right now with the PSG, but I would like this to happen”
Xavi expresses optimism about Barcelona season 2022/23
Xavi has gone further by showing that his coach staff are working hard to regain trust after a season where they failed to win a title.
“We are working on this”, Xavi added.
We'll give them a lot of faith so they feel lost in the field. We monitor them with individual videos so they work to improve as team”.
The players I have on my team have my full faith”, he said.
Barcelona has received criticism from many for its spending this summer, despite financial difficulties, but Xavi believes the club has not broken any rules.
“From inside, we don't have that opinion”, Xavi added.
We're buying players because we want to do things right, without breaking the rules so far”
Barcelona's coach has praised Jules Counde and has said that the competition for a place of defense will now increase team competition.
“
He'll give us an extra asset. He can also play side guard, such as Arawjo. That means there will be more competition on the team. That means a lot. Competition and presentation. Presentation of those who play best”.
We have more center defense. I talked to him and he would come here to compete, to make the difference, I think he can do it. He has leadership skills”.
