Memli Krasniqi one year Mayor PDK: We won local elections, opened the party for women and youth

A year ago, Memli Krasniqi was elected chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo. Through a text on the social network Facebook, Krasniqi says it was the greatest honour of his life to gain the confidence of delegates to the Tenth Convention to lead PDK.

He shows that during this year they worked hard with each member and activist. He also adds that this was the greatest honor in his life.

On July 3, 2021, exactly 1 year ago, I received the trust of delegates to the Ten Convention to lead the Democratic Party of Kosovo. As an early member and activist of the party, this was no doubt the greatest honour of life and, of course, the highest responsibility. During this year at the helm of the PDK, we have worked hard together with each member and activist, within every level of organization, that we should re-open our vision of Kosovo and citizens, developed, integrated and with prospects for all”, Krasniqi wrote.

He is now talking about victory in local elections, working in the Kosovo Assembly and the opposition making his subject.

“E started with victory in local elections, winning in 8 municipalities and emerging the first party in 10 municipalities. We restored civic confidence in Prizren, Mitrovica, Skenderaj, Elez's Moon and reconfirmed it in Ferizaj, Drenas and Kacanik. In the Kosovo Assembly, as leader of the opposition, The PDK was the voice of reason, through active parliamentary engagement, raising and defending concrete issues and causes, in behalf of citizens and social categories ignored by current power”, Krasniqi adds.

Krasniqi also speaks of “the government under the shadow” and the opening of the party to young people, and adds that his mission is to rebuild the PDK and return to government.

“As a platform of offering the ruling alternative, we initiated the Good Governance Cabinet. Experts from various fields are joining our platform for a better Kosovo, with competent and efficient governance. We have opened the doors for more women, young and professional, who make their commitment to society and the country see through politics. Today, I am very proud to say that there are hundreds of them that have joined us during this period, and many will join us in continuing this common journey. Our work and engagement will continue at every level of our structural organisation, in the Assembly, in the municipality and in the Good Governance Cabinet. My mission as Head is to rebuild, empower and restore The PDK in government, as a party of victories, for the development of our country. Thanks to all PDK members and sympathisers for the support of the reserve by today”, he concluded.
