Serbian Patriarch Porfirije in the liturgy held Tuesday in Gracanica for Vidovdan invited his countrymen “for peace with the Albanian brothers”.
The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church said co-existence with Albanians is necessary and that, as he said, “does not make others heard about how to create friendly reports with Albanians.
He also used nationalist vocabulary, saying that “Kosovo is the place where everything Serbian has been born”.
“We know that when we come here we have returned to ourselves, because here is Kosovo and Metohija, is our birthplace, we have originated here, we are born here”, the patriarch said, follow “Radio Mitrovica Sever”.
He also called for peace and love with Albanians.
We are called to be brothers with Albanians because we live here with them. Only in the community can we be on God's way, that we all need each other, that no one can do anything without anyone and that it's important to understand that, because we have the experience of our past. Let us not allow others to teach us about this”, the patriarch of Porfirije underlined.
