After controlling the premises, police confirmed that it was a false alarm.
Among the public institutions targeted Thursday were the National Election Commission and several courts in Sarajevo.
Authorities said neither the motive nor the perpetrators are known. Courts in Sarajevo described them as “terrorism”.
E-mails sent to Republika Srpska came from an address organised by Russian technology giant “Yandex”, otherwise known as “Russian Google”, according to the Bosnian daily newspaper Oslobodjenje.
During recent talks with Bosnian leaders, Secretary General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, stressed the need to boost cyber security co-operation with the Balkan nation.
Serbia has also received a wave of false bomb alarms over the past few weeks, which have stopped functioning schools.
