The FA conducted a six-month investigation and referred the case to the country's leading organised crime agency -- a development that shows serious concerns about corruption and potential crime, Dailymail reports.
The FA opened its investigation after being reported for suspicious betting models about a yellow card shown to Jaka at the end of the 4-1 Arsenal victory at “Eland Road” on December 18th.
There has never been any suggestion of any wrongdoing by Jaka or any other Arsenal player.
The alarm was raised by an extremely large bet of about 52,000 pounds, set during the match against Jaka to be punished in the last 10 minutes, despite the fact that Arsenal was winning 4-1.
Switzerland's midfielder was charged with yellow cards by Judge Andre Marinner for a waste of time in the 86th minute, after he delayed executing a penalty blow.
The suspicious bet was placed in a bet exchange a website allowing users to decide bets, but also to take them from other users and was reported immediately after gambling won a fee of around 250,000 pounds.
The betting leaders reported it to the FA because of the large amount of money involved, and some industry sources have told Sportsmail that the amount was much greater than the one usually put on yellow cards.
Another strange aspect of the incident was that the chances offered in the exchange of bets for Jaka's punishment were higher in the last 10 minutes than before the beginning, which also caused concerns for integrity.
