The case dates back to an episode that took place 11 years ago, at a nightclub in Meurthe-et-Moelle, with the attacker, currently 49, who shot security guards at night.
Tony's three brothers were also sentenced by the Nancy Criminal Court: Fabrice was also sentenced to five years in prison (two suspended), while Jimmy and Giovanni three (two suspended).
Weirelles, completed his career in 2011, made 557 presentations, scored 148 goals, playing for Lyons, Lens, Nancy, Bordeaux, Bastia, Rennes, Tours, Gueugnon, Lierse and Dudelange.
