Weather service “DWD” predicted heavy rainfall and hail in western and northwestern Germany on Thursday, with several areas that will have rains of up to 100km per hour, Euronews writes.
Authorities in the region have been on high alert following deadly floods that hit parts of Germany and Belgium last July.
Germany, like many of its European neighbours, has experienced a warmer and more dry spring than usual this year, with little rainfall and much sun.
