The current coach, Theago Motta, will reportedly leave Spesia after the end of this season, while Pirlo is the favourite coach's name for his replacement.
The 42-year-old has been free since May 2021, when he left Juvenus.
Before the first squad, Pirlo led Juvenus' U23 team.
