So said Arthur Mecholari, former member of the negotiating group for the maritime border.
The former military man indicated that London's company -- Omnia Strategy -- contracted by the Foreign Ministry in July 2021 -- has concluded that Albania risks losing its basic straight line, meaning lost sea surface.
This legal company is headed by Cherie Blair, wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who has also worked as government adviser “Rama”.
This, according to him, should not have gone unconditionally in front of Greece to an international court.
What will be produced after the contract constitutes a secret, as they will provide techniques and tactics that we will use in the Court. Even this company has reached a conclusion that we have rushed to go to The Hague unconditionally. They should have set conditions. We had to lead only cases that we had not solved”, Mecholar said at Euronews Albania.
Fashioner Jonida Shehu said information concerning this agreement has not been officially confirmed by the Foreign Ministry, even after long correspondence via e-mails, claiming the issue constitutes state secret.
But exclusive sources of the show confirm the existence of an agreement between the London company and the Albanian state regarding the issue of the maritime border with Greece.
About two years ago, Albania and Greece decided to address international justice to resolve the issue of the maritime border between the two countries on the basis of international sea law and expertise.
