Abramovich was respected by Chelsea's fans and arranged to greet them. It's been almost three months since I announced my intention to sell Chelsea FC. During this time, the team has worked hard to find the right guardian for Chelsea FC, who would be the best position to successfully lead the club in its next chapter.
The ownership of this club comes with great responsibility. Since coming to Chelsea almost twenty years ago, I've witnessed firsthand what this club can accomplish. My goal has been to ensure that the future owner has a mentality that will enable success for the team of men and women, as well as the will and effort to continue developing other key aspects of the club, such as the Academy and the vital work of the Chelsea Foundation.
I am glad that this research has now reached a successful conclusion. As I hand over to her new caretakers, I'd like to congratulate them on the best, both inside and outside the field.
It's been an honor of my life to be part of this club I'd like to thank all the past and current club players, staff and, of course, fans for these extraordinary years. I am proud that as a result of our shared successes, millions will now benefit from the new charity that is being created. This is the legacy we have created together”, the letter of the Russian billionaire concludes.
During Abramovich's 19-year period, Chelsea won five titles at Premier League and two Champions Leagues.
