Kosovo police have accepted a donation of biometric equipment from the Swiss Embassy for Border Police. At this ceremony it was said that these devices will strengthen safety mechanisms and serve to identify the wanted persons.
Interior Minister Jhelal Svecla has said Switzerland remains the main partner in realising state reforms.
I'm pleased to join this acceptance-submission ceremony with biometric equipment. I want to thank the Swiss people and state for their continued support. Switzerland remains one of the main partners in implementing our state reforms”, Svechla said.
Our bilateral partnership has been formalised for years through the migration-field agreement, and I strongly believe that this co-operation will continue and advance further. This donation today will strengthen our security mechanisms”.
Kosovo's “The people of Kosovo are also historically connected to the idea and is an integral part of our state's developmental processes. Our shipment is a promotion of these development processes”, Svechla said away.
Switzerland's ambassador to Kosovo, Thomas Cally, has declared that today's agreement is not new, as these two states have good relations between themselves. He said co-operation would also expand in administrative reforms and in the area of climate change.
The co-operation of the two states is no secret to having good relations. First since we have a Kosovo diaspora in Switzerland. The two states have agreed that we will launch co-operation over four years. We are co-operating with administrative reforms and in the area of climate change, but also in other support, including Kosovo-Serbia dialogue”, Ambassador Colin said.
Kosovo Police General Director Samedin Mehmeti thanked the Swiss state for these equipment. He also related what these devices will serve.
“These devices are which can be used to identify wanted persons and other persons associated with police work. It's just part of our cooperation. You know that Kosovo police have close co-operation with Switzerland's police”, Mehmeti said.
