When Gustave Eiffel had designed the tower in 1889, he also designed an apartment on top of it.
The apartment is located on top of the tower and has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bar. Eiffel had built it there for himself.
The only way to reach this apartment is through an elevator located in the center of the tower.
In 2016 another apartment was built in the tower, but this is more luxurious. It was built during the European Cup in 2016 and opened to tourists.
The Eiffel Tower was built in honor of the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution, and since then it has become a symbol of the French capital, Paris.
