Astrit Dehar's family and lawyer: Evidence sent to Switzerland was manipulated and damaged

At a media conference, lawyer Tome Gashi said the Special Prosecutor's communiqué sent about this expert is harmful to investigating Dehar's murder.

He has submitted some of the evidence sent to the Swiss Institute, said the evidence is manipulated.

“Whoever sees this State Prosecutor's communiqué is initially harmful to the investigation of the Astrit Dehar murder case itself. We are surprised how the Kosovo Special Prosecutor acts the same as the Founding Prosecutor in Prizren along with the former prosecutor then. We can explain to you that whoever sees this supplementary expertise, it cannot be understood if they fail to analyze previous expertise that was in September 2019, which was the same Swiss institute... In this additional expertise, we confirm that all of this evidence that the prosecutor of the case sent to the Swiss Institute has been manipulated and that they are not actually preserved and that they have not been able to find any other traces and have been asked to become genetic, toxicological and capillaries. This is about four evidence sent to Switzerland. We're dealing with this bottle, which was used in the case of the Astrit Dehar murder, and it's actually named as proof number five. In additional expertise it has been said that it has been impossible to find traces of datikoscopics because of packing because it was sent with leave and in additional expertise it is said that capillaries cannot be found because they have simply been erased”, he said.

Lawyer Gashi said that additional expertise confirms that police and other 2016 bodies have manipulated the evidence.

He said this expertise doesn't look like something negative, but the Special Prosecutor may find out who manipulated these evidence.

“We are convinced that if the Special Prosecutor of Kosovo had taken responsibility for the people who worked on the dawning of Astro Dehar's murder, there would also be persons named and surnamed, who have been involved in whatever work they've done under institutions and not just to send these trials, which have actually been manipulated and converted as useless evidence... This additional expertise confirms something that we have always known that relevant institutions by police, but the other bodies of 2016 have manipulated with evidence that would directly lead to what we all know Astri Dehat was killed and could identify the people who carried out this”, said lawyer Gashi.

Astrit Dehar's father, Avniu, said that they believe in every conclusion issued by the Swiss Institute.

He said this additional expertise shows that all evidence sent to the Institute is useless and damaged.

In every conclusion they have brought, we believe completely because they have done it in a scientific way... Even now after the analysis and conclusion of the first report, it is the presence of the third person involved in the Astritus murder. They have come to ask for facts and supplementary arguments so that they can do it properly. All the evidence and photos they sent them were damaged. Now in this expertise they've sent out, they conclude that no evidence is left intact, so they're all useless. They also sent a toy, a pencil and a razor blade, which they saw as being personal things of the Astritis in which there is no third thing and of course they've said there's nothing from a third person, and now the Special Prosecutor of Pristina, in which we've believed that they're going to carry out the work on conscience, has been urged to come out, has used only this conclusion, and not other conclusions, that there's also 4-5cloms of Pristina, and has taken advantage of this conclusion that the experts have allegedly said that there was no third person taking part of the death of the Ars, the Arstra, that they've done, and that they've made their own suicide.

The mother of the deceased, Xhevahire Dehari, asked to take responsibility for not making her son's death white.

She said the current prosecutor is not doing less or more work than prosecutor Syla Hoxha.

The prosecutor of the case that is now doing the job, like Sylla Hoxha, no more work or less, is doing it three years, they've taken the case, never told us anything. Four months ago we went by ourselves, we asked them, but they haven't given us answers, except we're waiting for the additional report from Switzerland and if you want to hand over the subject. But the subject does not give up when it has been kept for three years. Someone should be responsible for what they're doing”, she said.

During today the Kosovo Special Prosecutor has reacted to the Ministry of Justice as it accused him of manipulation with the conclusions of Switzerland's Institute of Legal Medicine for the death of former Vetevendosje activist Astrit Dehari.

The Special Prosecutor's Office has published five conclusions of the expertise of the Swiss Law Medicine Institute for the Dehar case.

Former Vetevendosje Movement activist, found dead on November 5, 2016, in Prizren prison under suspicion of having carried out an attack on the Kosovo Parliament building, along with several other activists.
