YouTube said it is blocking channels linked to Russian-backed media worldwide.
The video distribution platform began blocking the channels of RT and Sputnik on YouTube across Europe last week.
We are now removing the content of the Russian invasion in Ukraine that violates this” policy, Twitter said.
The community's “guidelines forbid the content that denies, minimizes or banalizes violent events well documented” are further stressed.
The updated policy will go into effect immediately, but YouTube systems will take time to completely block channels.
YouTube has also removed more than 1,000 channels and over 15,000 videos for violations of various policies, such as those for hate speech, dezinformation and graphic content amid Russia's fight against Ukraine.
Besides, we recently stopped all the YouTube ads in Russia. Now we've extended this to all ways of assemblying our platform in Russia”, the platform said.
