Turkish billionaire confirms talks on buying Chelsea

Muhsin Bayrak has confirmed that he is in talks with Roman Abramovich lawyers for buying “Chelsea F. C”, after the club was put up for sale earlier this week.

Abramovich shocked European football on Wednesday, when he announced that he set up sale to the London club after nearly two decades as the owner, the newspaper Express writes.

The Russian billionaire made that decision after Great Britain took sanctions on him as well, following the launch of Russia's attacks on the state of Ukraine.

Following Abramovich's decision, interest in buying the London club has immediately begun. Recently, one billionaire from Turkey has made it known.

“We are negotiating the conditions of buying Chelsea with Roman Abramovichi's lawyers,” said the Turkish businessman, whose family is one of the most important in Turkey, to the newspaper “Yni Safak”.

Because they find Turkey safe, they want to get most of the money after the sale in Turkey. We are planning to sign” soon, Bayrak said.

Muhsin Bayrak is the leader of the Mutki tribe of Bitlis, one of the largest families in Turkey, as well as chairman of the Board of “AB Group Holding”, which has investments in the cryptos, construction, tourism and energy sectors.

“The AB Group”, founded by Bayrak in 1999, is based mainly in Istanbul, but also operates in Italy, Greece and Spain. The company, worth $11 billion, is also said to have investments in London.
