Shevchenko has shown that his mother and sister are in Kiev where hard fight is taking place.
I am very proud to be Ukrainian at this difficult time for my country, my people and my family. My mother and sister are in Kiev, where terrible things are happening, from children dying and rockets headed into our homes, and they refuse to leave, they stayed to fight for our freedom. At one of the most difficult moments in our history, we showed that we are a united people”, he explained.
Finally, a message to other countries. “Ukraine and its people want peace and territorial integrity. So I ask you to support our country and encourage the Russian government to stop aggression and violation of international law. War is not the solution”, it is over.
