Ukrainian sport is in mourning.

Another athlete has been killed in the war zone by the Russian Army.

Yevhen Zvonok has passed away from his wounds during the fighting in the town of Chernigovone.

Ukrainian media report that the 22-year-old man passed away from the bombing of the Russian Army, which is trying to invade the capital, Kiev.

Zvonok, Ukrainian champion, had won silver in World Champions as well.

So he was a world vice champion, and much was expected of him.

The connoisseurs of this combat sport even believed that the 22 - year - old man had the potential to be declared world champion in the future.

But he joined the Ukrainian army in fighting the Russian aggressor.

On March 3rd, he was surprised by one of the Russian bombings in Chernigov, while on Monday his body was found in school ruins that had been bombed.

Nobody expected him to take up arms. He was a quiet and good guy, a talented athlete. But when the time came to defend the country, he didn't think at all”, his friend and coach Sergey Lysyuk, extremely upset about losing the sport.

He was a brave guy who never gave up. He accepted all challenges. We had planned international competitions with him, but he left prematurely”, he added.

“He started his sports career, last year was second in the Kickboxes World and Ukraine champion. We were preparing him for international competition and at the end of March he would have to take part in the Ukrainian championship in Odessa”, the already felt sports coach concluded.
