Russian officials have arrived at Ukraine's largest nuclear power plant, seeking to take control of the facility, according to a statement by Energoatom, Ukraine's state-owned nuclear power company.

Zaporizya's nuclear power plant has been occupied by Russian forces for more than a week, CNN reports.

In the statement issued by Energoatom, all six power units in the thermal power plant are in operation, but adds that the station's management is obliged to agree on all technical issues with the Russians.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Saturday that two of the four high power lines of the thermal power plant abroad have been damaged, but that the amount of energy needed to continue the thermal power plant to keep functioning safely can be secured by a available line.
