The bavarez automobile managed to win four stars because its autonomous control system showed fault when it hit the riders. This is the conclusion of a test of vehicle safety conducted by the European Security Organisation (Euro NNCAP), which has already published the results of the latest tests.

The maximum number of stars was won by Renault E-Tech cars, Lexus NX, VW Polo reinvented and VW Taigo, while BMW series 2 managed to win a star less.

In fact, the bavarian cup remained one step further than competition because of its autonomous braking system, which presented problems during its encounter with the riders. Otherwise, in other segments BMW also displayed a high level of security.

Five stars for Megan will be very useful to Renault's image in the market, since last year it was the Zoe electric model that failed to test, because it received zero stars.

By contrast, since July of last year Euro NCAP is presenting even stricter security criteria, with particular emphasis on the autonomous control system. The European Security Organization also points out that the next “will bring big challenges, considering that assisted and automated rowing will be in the forefront of the coming” changes.
