Italy invests 8.7 billion euros in industry

By 2030, Italy plans to allocate 8.7 billion euros for support of local industry, Reuters agrees. The agency has had access to the draft regulation on this issue.
As part of the package of measures for supporting the economy and for easing electricity bills, Italy this year will allocate 700m euros and another billion euros annually, from 2023 to 2030.
The new package meets the demands of companies and trade unions for the adoption of a mid-term structural programme, since Rome, according to the lobby group Anfia, spent about 1.35 billion euros in 2020 and 2021 to support the autoindustria, mainly through pre-finance measures.
Even though it lags behind other European producers, such as Germany and France, Italy is currently increasing the production of electric vehicles -- the country's largest producer, Stelantis, constantly introducing new models and plans.
Last year, Germany subsidized the purchase of electric cars and hybrid vehicles by 3.1 billion euros - nearly five times as much as in 2020.
