The German coach was appointed coach in the Russian capital only in October, but he does not continue his position anymore, as he is frustrated with recent developments in Ukraine, Periscope follows.
The 52-year-old led only 12 matches at the helm of Lokomotive Moscow, but he has now left his role for no sport reasons.
Gisdol said in a statement to the German media Bild: “I cannot be in office in a country whose leader is responsible for a fight of aggression”.
This is not in accordance with my values, so I resigned from my post as the coach of Lokomotive Moscow with immediate effect. ”
“I cannot stay on the training ground in Moscow, train players, seek professionalism, and a few miles away give orders that bring great suffering to an entire people. That's my personal decision and I'm absolutely convinced of it”, he's done.
