Forum 1 has confirmed that it has terminated its contract with Russia's Grand Prix in the wake of the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
The 2022 race, scheduled to take place in Sochi in September, had already been cancelled, but Forum 1 has now confirmed that this race will not take place even in 2023.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was key to establishing the event in 2014. Putin, who remains close to the race, has a palace in Soci and St Petersburg is his hometown.
The decision means that F1 will not compete in Russia until an indefinite term, at least as long as Putin remains in power.
