The British Defence Ministry says Ukrainian troops have continued to repel Russian efforts to invade the southern town of Marioupolis.
The town has faced ruthless bombings since the outbreak of the war on 24 February, with residential buildings, schools and hospitals among those bombed.
Somewhere else, the Defence Ministry said Russian forces “have endured yet another limited progress day, with most of the forces stuck in the country”.
Several Ukrainian cities continue to suffer from heavy Russian air and artillery bombings, and the UN reports that more than 10 million Ukrainians are now displaced within the country as a result of Russia's invasion”, he added.
