Britain wants to bring Putin to justice, engages judge who sentenced Karadzic to life imprisonment

United Kingdom General Prosecutor Suella Braverman announced she has named Sir Howard Morrison to help prosecute war crimes in Ukraine and the International Criminal Court, writes The Telegraph.

For a decade, Morrison was the judge at the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague for crimes in the former Yugoslavia and led the trial of the former Bosnian Serb Freedom, which resulted in life sentence.

Morrison's commitment comes as Russian forces continue to be charged with violating international law targeting civilians during the war in Ukraine.

The “may seem unimaginable that Russian war criminals could be one day at the dock. I have no doubt that it was unimaginable for both Karadzic and his supporters. And today he's behind bars, serving his sentence in a British prison”, Braverman said.

The United Kingdom has also offered 1 million pounds in support of the International Criminal Court and will provide investigators from Scotland Yard's War Crimes and Military Intelligence Unit.
