Satellite images reveal Russia's new moves towards Ukraine, Putin may order invasion

New satellite images received by CNN show that a large base containing Russian tanks, artillery and other armoured vehicles near the Ukrainian border is mostly empty and equipment appears to have moved much closer to the border. The base is in Yelnja, southeast of the city of Smolensk and [...]
The base is in Yelnja, southeast of the city of Smolensk and about 18 miles [418 km] from the Ukrainian border. Large quantities of weapons were moved there in late 2021, including some 700 tanks, war vehicles, and ballistic missile launchers, writes CNN.
Most of these devices are now missing, according to satellite images taken on February 6th. They're looking at traces of cars leaving.
Konrad Muzyka, military movement monitoring expert at Rochan Consulting, says what happened in Jelnja is one of several “important changes in Russian forces composition and their” location.
“We are entering a new phase where we see pre-admissioned units filling in with additional staff and that the equipment is likely to be moved”, he added.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan recently said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will most likely issue orders for an attack on Ukraine.
American officials told CNN over the weekend that Putin has now collected 70 percent of the military personnel and weapons that would be needed for a full-scale invasion at the Ukrainian borders.
