Why is one - year - old Mercedes more expensive today than a youth?

Something very strange is happening in the markets of cars used in Europe, the US, Japan... Some used models are, in fact, more expensive than their new versions.
There's this phenomenon that's not often seen, although there's a very simple clarification of the automotive industry can't offer as many new cars as it's a buyer's demand, due to the lack of global car chips. This has influenced prices on the used car market to be higher than the prices of young people. The only difference is that the car used to take a few days, while for a new one should wait up to 12 months, depending on the type, model, market, etc.
According to a study conducted by the See Carr, the prices of used cars are on record level. Based on the data of the See Cars a one-year-old car used costs 1.3 per cent more expensive than its new model. The winning results are based on the required prices for more than 1.5 million new and used cars sold in the US during the January 1st-31st January 2022 period. As an example, Mercedes-Benz G-Class an average year can be bought for 35.6 per cent more expensive than a new G-Clas.
