Kosovo's “Religious Unions are opposing the initiative to change Kosovo's Civil Code after reviewing the bill in question and after consultations they have had at today's meeting of our leaders, based on the teachings and sermons of our beliefs, as well as the code of values of our people, we have agreed to reject this” initiative.
Kosovo's “Religious Unions remain united and in a single voice before the lawmakers of the Assembly of Kosovo, before the Government and other institutions, to give up any change, from any redefinition, from any reinterpretation of provisions for the family, marriage and marital status of spouses in our country”, it is said among other things in their joint statement.
My Lord Dode George of the Catholic Church said during the signing of this statement that they are together and have been engaged for this for years now.
We are all together with this statement and we have an attitude and are committed to preserving our family and people in this respect and many other things that unite us. It's not a topic that came out yesterday or today, but it's our business for several years together”, he said.
