Kryeziu performs first launch at Winter Olympics

Kiana Kryeziu has debuted at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics early Monday morning, becoming the first woman to represent Kosovo in winter games.

Meanwhile, Albin Tahiri has achieved his best personal time in his current race.

Kryeziu and Tahiri are the only two athletes representing Kosovo in Beijing 2022, both in ski races.

Kryeziu, 17, who became the first woman to represent Kosovo at the Winter Games, competed in large slalom.

She took 59th place by 82 racers, with a time of 1 minute and 18.78 seconds.

The Kryez will compete in the second big slalom race later today.

Tahiri, meanwhile, who became the first athlete to represent Kosovo at the Winter Olympic Games taking part in PyongChang 2018 in South Korea competed in alpine launch, registering record personal time in winter games.

He ranked 35th out of 43 contestants, which is his best standing in the Winter Olympics.

Tahiri had one minute and 52.44 seconds.

Albin will also compete in the disciplines of the alpine combination, slalom, and huge slalom the next few days.
