Newly appointed Kosovo coach Alain Giresse has spoken the first words after taking up his new post at the conference for media held Wednesday.
He began his speech by showing that he has a special connection with Kosovo and that this friendship has been since former president of the Kosovo Football Federation Fadil Vokry.
Even in the friendly match between Senegal and Kosovo, Giresse, who at the time was Senegal's coach, found out that people in this country were wondering who the country we're going to play with and that he showed them that it's a state I know very well.
And as for his new adventure, the former French midfielder said Kosovo should have great ambitions, just as every country in the world has.
We still have to develop the existing potential depending on force, but also on the more fragile sides a team has, however, and create a team without imposing on itself a goal to go to. We must be required to perform as best we can for any game... Then football has a lot of parameters. You always have to try your best and best. Now we cannot say what the borders of Kosovo are, so we must have ambitions as in Kosovo as in any country in the world. Any player that should be in the selection should have the same ambition.”, Griesse said.
Giresse refused to talk too much about the goals he will have with Kosovo, declaring that I cannot give the prognosis because what needs to be seen is the work that will be done on the field.
I don't know if there's any competition you can know first who the winner is, that's actually football magic. In the League of Nations, of course we can't have prognosis, we can't tell if we're in the favourite group. But that shouldn't bother us, the game is in the field. But anyway, we'll work at the maximum underrated or overestimated the team we've faced.”, the Frenchman continued.
Giresse also found that he has signed contracts as Kosovo coach that lasts until November 2023.
“Today, I have the honor of introducing the new coach, the client, the famous one for you, and for all of us is Alian Giresse. I believe his name tells you who it is I have nothing more to present, but I am very happy today that this one is among us and has accepted our offer to be the protector of the National of Kosovo A, with which we will face the challenge of having results as much as possible. We have today guaranteed and given full support to Giresse that we will be behind him with all of our organization, with all of our options to the Federation of Football and I believe so much, and I hope that knowing the quality of our players and his commitment that we will have expected results and that we will achieve what we have and have so far had, said the first FFK.
Asked who the coach's names were on the August NFF list, Ademi refused to name names, saying he should respect the already engaged coach.
