The chairman of the conservative party “The Word”, Gezim Kelmendi, has reacted to the issue, accusing Prime Minister Albin Kurti of eliminating Kosovo's “Family”.
“The Kurti government through the Civil Code Project that tomorrow is in the order of the day for the vote aims to pave the way for marriages within the same gender. Kurti government not only deceived citizens, it compounded the economic situation, but now the Project Code is destroying the main pillar of state, the family. If Serbia killed Albanians with weapons, Albin Kurti is killing them by this law”, Kelmendi has said.
During the day, the Islamic Community of Kosovo has reiterated its stance against marriage of the same gender.
According to BIK, they are contrary to Islamic principles.
