Which countries have the highest percentage of fake mileage cars?

According to satistics, we usually drive the same car for three to five years. This means that there is a possibility that sellers will cheat us two or three times for a decade.
But how dangerous is buying a used car today? The research by the Governorical finds that the answer depends on the country in which we live. This is because the frequency of mile return varies from country to country. Thus, with an analism of some 900,000 car history reports collected during the year 2021, it turned out that Baltic countries have the worst numbers. Latvia is in first place, where over 24% of controlled vehicles showed signs of unauthorized opening of the mileage. Estonia and Lithuania already take third and fourth place.
However, Baltic countries are a small market. To see a large number of vehicles involved in this kind of fraud must go east and south, to countries like Romania (second country), which has nearly 20% of the miles returned, as well as Russia and Ukraine. Then comes Poland (12%) and Hungary (14%), as well as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia, where about 10% of all cars have mileposts returned.
The problem is less common in the richest countries in Western Europe, where people usually buy newer cars. However, the problem is more common there than most people think.
How costly is counterfeit fraud?
The problem of mileage fraud is that it's a problem “quiet”, but expensive. According to the European Commission, waste of miles causes damage of some 9.6 billion euros a year. Many used Eastern European cars come from markets in Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, and Italy. 30%-50% of these cars have false mileages.
