Adaptive road lighting that fits weather conditions

The new road lighting system, which is being tested in Switzerland, alone determines the intensity of needed lighting, depending on weather conditions.
Adaptive lights are not new news for drivers. Long lights, turn lights, automatic lights when it gets dark, and LED lights have long been available. However, on street lights, the system is innovation. The Electrical Company of Cyril (EKZ) is testing a new approach, as part of a pilot-project in Seestrasse, in Richter.
Three sections of various lighting roads have been selected for testing: the first with sodium light, the second with LED light, and the third with ten LED adaptive lights, which change the intensity of lighting depending on the weather. LED adaptive lights are produced by German producer Siteco, who is co-operating in the project with ECCZA.
The system functions as in the car, so light sensors control the weather, reveal the fog, rain or snow, and then automatically regulate the intensity of light for a minimum light.
Is enlightenment better for the human eye than the actual lights?
We'll know the answer at the end of this year, when the driver survey has to classify the benefits of the system.
