The Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS), in a letter to the preliminary judge, has said former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and former Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli must continue custody.
According to report “They said they never relied on the testimony of the witness who withdrew.
Wessel and Thaci, the preliminary judge, had approved the requests that review their detention be postponed until a case is resolved.
On the other hand, Kadri Veselini's defense in a letter to the court had said a witness admitted that Veselin and Thaci were responsible for confidential documents in the Gucati and Haradinaj case and that he was pushed to lie by an informant who has been in regular contact with ZPS.
The question of discovery mentioned in the ruling is the measure to which the SPS has relied on the testimony of a witness who has since given up his confession. Z The SP has never relied on the evidence of this witness in this case, including the reasoning of detaining any accused”.
The defense has been aware of this all along since the first pre-trial judge's detention decisions, it became clear that detention could only be justified with information revealed to”, said by the SPS.
