Zelensky said he would go to Washington for talks with Beden to strengthen Ukraine's resistance and defence skills and address the US Congress.
During the visit, Beden will announce a military aid package for Ukraine worth about $2 billion that will include a Patriot missile battery to help the state protect itself from the Russian missile hail, a senior US official said.
Zelensky's visit, which was organised in secret until the discovery of details, is expected to last several hours, reports Reuters, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
He will hold talks with Beden and senior national security assistance at the White House, participate in a joint press conference with Beden and then go to Capitol Hill to speak at a joint session of the US Senate and House of Representatives.
