The Ukrainian leader described an invitation to visit the US a great honor and thanked President Biden for the contribution his country has made to Ukraine during these months of war.
Among other things, Zelensky awarded a military award to the American president for the bravery shown in these difficult times. Beden accepted this award with great satisfaction.
For his part, the White House head indicated that the US supports peace in Ukraine and told Zelensky that his country has surprised the world with shown resistance.
This is the first time that the leader of Ukraine has left his country since the start of the war about 300 days ago, and it is expected to later be recognised by the new US military aid package that amounts to $1.8 billion.
During the visit to the US, Volodyr Zelensky will give a speech to Congress for American lawmakers.
