Resigning this list is seen as an urgent need for Kosovo patients.
The chairman of the key committee's list of medical products and rescue materials, Driton Vela, said that most subcommittees have already offered new proposals to enrich the list of essential drugs, so he believes that in January they may have a report on this list.
According to him, this list will be compiled according to the World Health Organization's standards.
The majority of the subcommittees have completed the job, some have no new proposals, while a large part have new proposals and are in the end, so I am very optimistic that in January the issue will end, and in the coming period we are left as the key committee to discuss all new proposals and decide which will be included in this final report... 3:39 when we make this list, it's cost, we take the reference prices that are in the region, and we get an average and on the basis of that we restore this list. Now it depends on the proposals, it might at the end that the final cost to be even higher than the budget that has been shared... in the database we have is 60 million, but that's the money that's separated from the primary and secondary level, we send our proposal and then they set up a budget contract”, he said.
The head of the Association for the Rights of Kosovo Patients, Besim Kodra, considers the review of this list to be extremely important in order for Kosovo patients to be offered support for treatment.
Kodra demanded that this process be forwarded to transparency, as he put it, as civil society has been excluded.
And this is a very transparent process, and there's got to be a strict rule about how essential drugs should be made. Since we were formerly part of this commission, now we are not, when there is no civil society, I doubt much about the credibility of the process, but what I call for is that these lists are built by the standards of the World Health Organization, which gives a better reflection of how it should be made“, he stressed.
Chairman PRAK, Besim Kodra has raised concerns that updateing the list of essential drugs is being done without health protocols.
The problem is that we're building list of essential drugs without health protocols, in normal conditions we're going to have to have protocols and they're assigning them to us, which are essential drugs that we need to have for the fact that protocols haven't moved, or there are very small movements, but they're very small, it's required much faster dynamics... it's certainly important that a health service can only be complex when we have drugs or excusive material there, say the code.
Parliamentary Health Commission member Shemsedin Dresaj said that as the commission has not accepted any information on the work the Commission is doing to update the list of essential drugs. However, he saw the urgent need to update this list.
There was a dilemma that working on the delivery list of essential drugs is a big and necessary job and should be done at certain times in dependence on the strategy that is being done, but this health strategy has been passed in 2021 and we're currently without new strategies and I don't know what criteria they're going to do to react to this list, even though the list urgently needs to be revised to”, Dressa stressed.
The key committee for the List of Medical Products and Savings has started work on updateing the list of essential drugs in early October of this year.
The recent update of the list of essential drugs occurred in 2019, during former Health Minister Uran Ismajli's term. /kp/
